Mike believes strongly in being a valuable resource to his customer's, and has answered thousands of E-Bike and Bike Maintenance related questions over the past 5 Years.

Researching On-line can often be frustrating, as there are over 130 different brands of E-Bikes, with seemingly new entrants coming on line every other month. Even the on-line review websites don't necessarily help you compare one e-bike model versus another.

So Mike has put together an E-Bike Comparator Database, with specific ebike models and types, in comparison to other brands of the similar functionality, and in the same price range.

In addition to the e-bike comparator, Mike's E-Bike Guru Knowledge Database will also help you quickly find answers to the MOST COMMON E-Bike questions: such as

  • Which batteries to choose, how long they last, and how range is affected by various conditions

  • Which motor is better for what purpose ? Mid drive versus Hub drive

  • How to differentiate between cheap (inferior) e-bikes and better quality e-bikes that are at affordable prices

  • How to get the best fit

  • Pro's and Con's of many e-bike brands and their models, including dozens of brands that Mike's E-Bikes does not carry (these are not shallow infomercials like many of the '10 best' lists or what some people who call themselves 'reviewers' provide.) Nope, these are spot on, and concise critical differences identified, that have an impact on things like comfort, longevity, lower maintenance, and more.

  • What are the real risks of buying a sub $1000 e-bike ? (i.e. what short cuts are taken, and how is quality affected)

  • What is typical E-Bike Maintenance and how does it differ from regular bikes ?

  • E-Bike Customization Options you won't find on-line anywhere

  • And much more...

So you might be asking, 'Can't I find all of this on-line in the comfort of my home ?'

Well certainly you can, but I hear time and again, how customers have spent many hours and hours on-line, and still don't know which is the best e-bike for them, sometimes get more confused, and then still don't get a lot of their questions answered. They find they don't have anyone to consult that is objective and really knowledgeable. In a way, what drove this 'Guru and Coffee Bar' concept is that Mike posts fairly often on the Electric Bike Review forum, and for some reason Mike ends up being sought out in private messages or phone calls, from people all across the country, asking his advice on many e-bike related topics. Thus it seems like there are many people who could benefit from these additional resources.

Mike still feels the best way to know if an ebike is perfect for you, is still by riding one - which you can't do if you are buying one on-line. And here during our long Chicago winters, when it can be a great time to do research, that ebike riding can be a challenge. Mike now has a 3200 SF shop, but that is still not quite large enough for a good test ride.

So Mike has created a cozy In-Store "nook" area for optimized e-bike research with comfortable seating, coffee bar, a couch and easy chairs, with PC's and monitors, where you can very quickly find exactly what you need to know super quickly. There will be easy to comprehend PowerPoint Slide Decks, Multiple Graphic aids and pictures, and access to instantaneous on-line information for specific topics all available at the click of a button.

Our 'nook' is also away from the distractions of home, (maybe even away from kids?) , or significant others (lol), and so if you come across a specific question while researching that you want a quick answer to, Mike will also be available anytime to answer that question on the spot. The coffee is free, and is self serve, sort of like you'd find at a nice automotive dealership.

Coffee and E-Bikes and great conversation always seem to go good with each other. Think of it like visiting a library with a Starbux inside, but with dozens of ebike models right there just a few steps away, once you've done your quick research, and narrowed in on your Perfect E-Bike !

The idea here is to make your research time much more effective, likely a lot faster too, but at your own pace with a hot cup of Joe. You can take all the time you want, and you will not be bothered by a sales person at all. In fact, Mike is a mechanical engineer, and is just super friendly and available only if you want some expert advice, or have questions about the technology or specific e-bikes.

P.S. The Coffee is courtesy of a Keurig, and we have in stock many different brews. Again, its free. And Mike might be considered an 'E-Bike Barista', but he sure as heck won't be serving you coffee. You get to do that yourself ...

However the e-bike expertise you'll receive is Priceless !

Happy New Year !

Mike
